Studio Access
Types of Studio Access
We offer multiple types of studio access in partnership with the Wet Clay Cafe in Fremont!

Standard Studio Sessions
Our standard sessions are a creative time designed for anyone who wants to get into the studio, including people with no prior experience, and includes instructors to assist you. It is not a class, however, and is instead intended as a creative space for you to have fun! There are two cohorts, one hand building with 50 spots (making sculptures and/or pots without the use of the wheel) and one throwing with 24 spots (using the wheel to make pots) for each session. There will be two instructors present. These sessions include four hours per week of independent studio access in addition to the scheduled time. This access can take place any weekday before 5pm, and is intended as independent work time for your projects, so does not include an instructor.
Cost: The total cost of the session is $120 with about $12 of tax (plus cost of clay, $22/bag, typically students only need one bag), and will be paid directly to Wet Clay Cafe.

Advanced Studio Classes
Our advanced classes are designed for people who want more instruction and wish to expand on their existing skills. You must have previous pottery experience to join this class, either from studio sessions with us, high school, or another experience. There will be two instructors present, who will provide demos and instruction during each session. The focus of this class is on developing students' existing skills and teaching them new ones. There is one throwing cohort with 24 spots and a hand building cohort with 50 spots. These classes include 4 hours per week of independent studio access in addition to the scheduled time. This access can take place any weekday before 5pm, and is intended as independent work time for your projects, so does not include an instructor.
Cost: The total cost of the class is $150 with about $15 of tax (plus cost of clay, $22/bag, typically students only need one bag), and will be paid directly to Wet Clay Cafe.

College Studio Membership Program
We are thrilled to announce our new summer membership program, available to all students and staff members of the University of Washington. The month-to-month membership offers flexibility, with the ability to terminate with 30 days notice. Please note that clay, glaze, and firing will be sold separately, as done currently through UW Ceramics Offering. While our regular sessions will resume with the Fall Term, we're excited to offer this opportunity to create ceramics over the summer. This membership includes access to the studio between 9am and 6pm with bookable wheel time, shelf space, and the use of studio tools.
You can access the membership page here.
Cost: The total cost of the membership is $150 with about $15 of tax (plus cost of clay, $22/bag, typically students only need one bag), and will be paid directly to Wet Clay Cafe.
Studio Access Timeline
01.
We release throwing lottery forms for the upcoming studio sessions a few weeks in advance. These lottery forms are just for throwing spots, are open for a few days, and are completely free to join.
02.
Once the lottery forms close, our admin team randomly selects winners and contacts them over email. These winners will have a few days to pay for their spot through the studio website in order to claim it.
03.
Once the time for winners to pay has ended, we release all of the remaining throwing spots and all of the hand building spots for first come, first serve access. These links are direct sign up links through the studio website, and require payment to claim a spot.
May first come, first serve sign ups now open!
Past Studio Sessions
May studio session timeline:
4/8 - May lotteries posted on website
4/9 - Lotteries close at midnight

Accessing the Studio
The studio is located at 1109 N 35th St Suite A, Seattle, WA 98103.
It is easily accessible by bus routes 31 and 32, from either the NE 45th St/University Way NE stop and ending outside the studio doors at the N 35th St/Stone Way N stop.
We also are launching a Slack community for our members to communicate about taking the bus together and/or carpooling! These links will be sent out over email.

Ceramics Club facilitates the sign up and member management for the studio sessions, but we are not responsible for any part of the payment process. All payments go directly through the Wet Clay Cafe website (wetclaycafe.com) and are nonrefundable regardless of missed sessions. For any questions about payment, please contact the studio directly.
